“I couldn’t think of a better NVC trainer than Alan.”

I couldn’t think of a better NVC trainer than Alan. He models NVC beautifully in how he delivers the course, and more importantly, how he moves through his own life and interactions with people. I met Alan in a workshop that we were both taking and he stood out to me because he kept asking the most remarkably concise and clear questions. His communication is intentional, warm, and to the point. He’s one of those people that I always look forward to talking to because it is so refreshing communicating with someone who is so dialed in, present, and curious! In this course he clearly outlines the principles of NVC using metaphors, entertaining personal anecdotes from his time spent with Marshall Rosenberg, interactive exercises, and a dash of humor. It was a pleasure being introduced to NVC by him and I would recommend this course to anyone who is curious about this highly effective model of communication.
~ Lani Klaphaak

Alan Seid began studying under Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D., in 1995. Alan learned most of his Nonviolent Communication™ directly from Dr. Rosenberg and has also studied with many certified trainers. Alan’s first opportunity to teach NVC, and to mediate a conflict using it, was in 1998. In 1999, Alan traveled and served as Marshall’s Spanish interpreter in Colombia, South America.

 Dear Changemaker:

Hi. I’m Alan Seid.

I’ve been a Certified Trainer in Nonviolent CommunicationTM(NVC) for over 10 years — studying it for over 20 —
NVC, which was named out of a sense of alignment with Gandhi’s movement of truth-telling and compassion, is a world-famous, proven, time-tested methodology:
– for creating exceptional personal and professional relationships,
– for offering compassionate understanding to others (and knowing when & how to ask for it ourselves),
– for preventing and resolving misunderstandings and conflicts,
– for speaking our truth in a way that is more likely to lead to harmony than conflict, and
– for creating mutual understanding without coercion.
I created this course so you could have the most robust and accessible introduction to NVC, at home, while also supporting multiple learning modalities.
I recorded this course live, which gives it a fresh feel and allows you to hear the Q&A with live participants — almost 6 CDs’-worth!
It comes with a step-by-step guide (PDF) that breaks down the NVC curriculum into 9 “steps” — while also providing stories, examples, and useful worksheets with exercises.
This course was designed in a unique way:
Both the PDF guide and the course recordings are designed to be stand-alone and they complement each other!
As a downloadable course, we’re avoiding resource waste — and you’ll have something you can listen to over and over again, in your own place and at your own pace!
